►Our main objective as a group is to provide encouragement and support to families that have a child on a ventilator. No one can better understand the daily struggles than someone who has been in the same shoes. We would also like to be able to provide financial assistance to those families who are going home for the first time. There are so many extra supplies and medical necessities that are required and they can really put a strain on the pocketbook. ►Most often times one of the parents must leave their employment in order to take care of the child. Reducing to one income puts an enormous strain on the family also. Any monetary assistance we could provide the family at this time would be a tremendous help. ►Our families are scattered all over the state of Alabama. We would love to be able to provide a gas allowance when a family travels to a support group meeting or a function. Some of our families may not be able to attend these functions without that support. ►If we had the funds available we would love to be able to help out with dinners or travel expenses when a child is hospitalized. Some families stay at the hospital with the child, while others stay at the Ronald McDonald House. We want to be able to help cover some of these unexpected costs. |
