You are invited to attend our 8th Annual Light the Way Vent Camp. This camp is for all children that live at home on ventilators. We offer a family camp for your child on a ventilator, their siblings, the parents and any other caregivers you may need to help you.

Camp is being held: June 1 – 5, 2011 at Children’s Harbor Lodge in Alexander City, Alabama

Activities include: Arts and Crafts, Swimming in a handicap accessible swimming pool, canoes (chilren with supervising adults only), a parade, face painting, carnival games, karaoke and more.

Each family will have an air conditioned private room with their own handicap accessible bathroom, plenty of outlets for all of your equipment, two twin beds and one set of bunk beds. You must bring your own bed and bath linens.

We will provide all meals but you may want to bring your own specific drinks and/or snacks. We do provide tea, koolaid and water with meals.

Vent Kids is hosting our 4th Annual Walk/Roll a Thon on April 30, 2011 at McAdory Elementary School Track.

$15 registration Fee
All walkers raising $30 or more will receive a free tshirt if received by April 18, 2011

Registration begins at 9am and the walk starts at 10am.  Please email me for more information.

Dear Friends of Vent Kids of Alabama,

Charity begins on the golf course at the Regions Tradition.  You have the
opportunity to make Vent Kids of Alabama a big winner by participating in the
Birdies for Charity program.  We will receive every single penny of the
donations generated on our behalf!  Additionally, you  have a chance to win
great prizes when you pitch in to help us!  Simply make a pledge of $0.02 or
more per birdie or make a flat pledge of $15 or more.
To create additional excitement, The regions Tradition is giving you the chance
to “Guess the Birdies” that will be made during the tournament by the Champions
Tour Players!  The donors who guess the correct amount of birides are entered
into a drawing to win the “Stay & Play Package” at the World Golf hall of fame
in St. Augustine, FL!  It is expected that around 800 birdies are going to be
made based on past tournaments.  There will also be weekly give-a ways every
Friday for all donors with great prizes such as restaurant gift certificates,
tickets to local sporting events, and even a $1,000 gift certificate to Diamonds

money will receive additional funds call “Bonus Bucks” thanks to Regions
Tradition.  The top 10 charities get “Bonus Bucks” with the top charity

Thanks to everyone who came out to our 3rd Annual Walk/Roll a Thon on Saturday April 10, 2010.   We enjoyed a beautiful day of sunshine while getting some exercise and raising money for a good cause all at the same time.  We raised over $800 to help provide a great time for our families at our upcoming 7th Annual Light the Way Vent Camp!

Thanks to all of you who attended our summer camp this past weekend.  We had 13 families attend with about 90 people.  It was great to get to know some of our new families.  Thanks to everyone to donated time and/or money to make this camp a success!

We will have Fall Camp again this year the 2nd weekend in October.  Camp will be in the Henderson House across from the pool at Children’s Harbor.  Space is limited so please RSVP as soon as possible.  We can hold 8 families comfortably.  Because space is limited only parents and siblings are eligible to attend this camp.  Hope to hear from you soon.
